It's a rain swept day in Auburn, Washington that does not inhibit the effusion of new delicate green beginnings of leaves on a myriad of trees. My son Josh got indoctrinated as an announcer or pep rallier for a run at Marymoor Park near Redmond. It was for a cause heralded as The Hell with Cancer and attracted a myriad of eager runners. It was sort of a baptism of fire for Josh but I'm told he did very well. Speaking of newness to things, this blogging stuff isn't exactly old hat for me. I began with an initial thrust in October '12 and with that only-one-time shot stopped until the other day and here I am again giving it another try with the hopes I really get it going. I had several hit from Facebook friends, so I'm optimistic.
Last Thursday my daughter fresh from Brooklyn, N.Y. did our Poetry and Art thing at Auburn Avenue Theatre in our hometown, Auburn, WA and we drew a close to full house. They were most enthusiastic and Jessie and I got lots of positive feedback from those who imbibed in our hour and half presentaton. Jessie animated some of my poetry and we showed it on the theatre's large screen, I read some additional poetry of mine and Jessie showed some of her videos, one of which was awarded best in animation by the the New York International Film Festival.
Jessie framed the evening by mentioning when she did her bachelors in art art at Concordia University in Montreal one of her professors asked her who influenced her work. She proceeded to say she was influenced by Goya and Van Goth, etc., and the professor stopped her. "Did Goya raise you, where are you from, who really raised you?" Jessie proceeded to tell the professor where she lived, about her mother and me, etc. This helped us for our evening. Jessie spoke of me, her father, in the my poetry influenced her and I went on to talk about me and my father through poetry and my mother. Jessie showed videos of several of my poems. It seemed to click. Now tell me, is this a blog or not, I'm a bit clueless......

Back at bantering. Jessie is home from Brooklyn and we had a great evening at the Auburn Avenue Theater in Auburn Washington. We did mutual work together poetry and art....I think it was fabulous and i hope I am not bragging too much. it was a wonderful evening for us ,a couple of hundred people were there to enjoy our show.
Now to say something weird to get started on this blog. believe it or not my name is on national TV on The Office on April 11th. Tim McAuliffe and I used to do "faux french" together. He is a writer for The Office and he is putting my name out there as a farmer from Pennsylvania. If you want to hear about Dick Brugger ....listen to the show The Office on April 11th.
It is wonderful to have Jessie Brugger home and to have Josh, who lives close by as well as my wonderful, delightful, creative, fantastic wife here.....
